How Much Is Free Netflix?
Show Notes Transcript

Who are you bumming Netflix from? Let's talk about it.

Marcus:

I'm okay, so I'm going a little crazy. There are tons of streaming services that I have and I need to get rid of some

William Jeffery:

of those seats while you're on social media. They got ads for that, which which has all kinds of ads for like, was it Bill tremor? I don't know what it's called. It's really like go maybe it's a scam? I don't know. I've never signed up because I just you know, I'm too broke to have multiple streaming services. I have my uncle's Hulu account from when Hulu was free. Okay, got Netflix from my, from my grandmother. Ah, and that's it. I can't afford anything else.

Marcus:

Like, you move since living with the grandmother Right? Or have you ever lived with the grandmother? No, I

William Jeffery:

never lived with her. I just needed the Netflix password. Because I wanted to watch the Chris Rock stand up.

Marcus:

Ah, okay. Well, you may not be on her Netflix account any longer.

William Jeffery:

But on there. I don't even know his password. I set it.

Marcus:

Did you set the location as your house? Or did you

William Jeffery:

go look? Is it it's Netflix. Not a GPS? I don't need to set the look. I'm not going anywhere. It's not an Uber. Yeah, well, you know, are is that are they expanding? Are we gonna do Netflix and chill? mobily because you're gonna have to really disinfect those cars.

Marcus:

You're green. So these are some great ideas. Who are you?

William Jeffery:

I'm well. And I don't like to pay for streaming services. So I collect email addresses from friends and family. And I also collect them on the show if you'd like to send them in, you know, boxy, calm, we would love to interact. And you know, if you are loose with your login information you can send that over to and I will teach you a life lesson.

Marcus:

Right I'm Marcus and I'm pretty sure that I already got taught lightless life lesson when my information got leaked onto the web.

William Jeffery:

Oh wasn't leaked. It was strategically placed.

Marcus:

Well anyways, we'll get into it. Netflix is out here getting ready to charge people for people that share their logging information with someone else that's not inside their household.

William Jeffery:

What we mean

Marcus:

charge people for having additional logins.

William Jeffery:

When not the one login I just give it to somebody else the

Marcus:

dropper intro like if

William Jeffery:

I buy an orange right, it has like nine to 12 parts is my orange right I can give one of the orange pieces to my uncle in exchange for his Netflix logging. Where else can't charge me per orange slice the transaction was for the orange as a whole so once I've purchased it it's my to do what I want with it. Go pass it out, you know and hurt oranges for the homeless.

Marcus:

Right let's let's let's talk about the details of this during your intro

William Jeffery:

about oranges for them. I think that would be a good because they need vitamin C. They get plenty of sunlight though, you know, for those of you that are vitamin D deficient try homelessness. So I was informed by the city that I cannot suggest homelessness live on air

Marcus:

really fast. I was surprised on how quickly they got here.

William Jeffery:

Well, anything to keep the gentrification going. We can't have more tents.

Marcus:

You say gentrification. I say modernization.

William Jeffery:

Yeah, I mean Potato Potato. Yes. That's it depends on who you're talking to. Oh, and how much they earn yearly, which attitude you choose to use, but the results are the same.

Marcus:

Gotcha. Okay, well, that makes sense. Well, I hope you have more money to spend because once again, Netflix is their standard subscription is about$15 per month. However, if they found out someone else is using your account that doesn't live in your household, they're going to start charging them an additional fee.

William Jeffery:

Netflix is gonna charge strangers Oh, they'll charge you the fee for strangers. Yes. at their discretion. I just pick randomly.

Marcus:

No, no, like, if someone else is using your Netflix login. Even it's hacker who doesn't live in your household. They're gonna charge you $3

William Jeffery:

What a Netflix household ruler What does that even mean? He lives in your household. So you can't use Netflix abroad like you're not allowed to travel with you. You have to get a traveling login. Like Well, I'm going to be on vacation in Florida. Hanging out with Mickey Mouse and some strippers Yes. At the same time. I think that's where take many comes from because when you get to floor you do you just get pleasure. Stick surgery knots for keyboard playing. That's what takes so long. Yeah, like they don't they didn't bend last year luggage. Nobody gets their luggage but everybody comes back thicker fare. So yeah, if they come back a lot don't come back as

Marcus:

well around $3 per month for different users, the additional accounts will have all the features and functions, but it

William Jeffery:

doesn't make any. They're not What are you talking about?

Marcus:

The additional $3 Netflix is charging.

William Jeffery:

So they're just raising the prices? No, it's charging $3 for having additional accounts. But you don't you're not getting an additional account. It's the same account you always had.

Marcus:

Right? So like, let's just say you and your family have three accounts, right? You? Well, that's to your wife, and then the kids,

William Jeffery:

you should have one account. That's okay, it's fine. For one account,

Marcus:

especially since you said you're using your grandmother's account, and then

William Jeffery:

she's using nine now because I put my password. And

Marcus:

so basically what's gonna end up happening is there Netflix is gonna give you a email that says, hey, we'll head above popsicles, you are using

William Jeffery:

your grandmother's Netflix, right? And then why would she tell them that? What they're not gonna tell them? They're gonna find out? They're gonna, so she's not gonna tell. Netflix is gonna send a spy to my house, I imagine because they're like, Hey, man, you guys want to watch Netflix? No stranger at the door. I don't want to watch nothing. You're always streaming from one location and one Wi Fi device. No, Netflix is on my cell phone. Well, yeah, but like you're at home most the time, right? Why would I watch Netflix on my cell phone at home? It is on my cell phone to watch on the move.

Marcus:

Maybe the kids want to take the TV.

William Jeffery:

That's a life lesson in hierarchy. Then they either watch on their iPad or they watch the Lakers lose. See, Jameson, this is how you don't do a layup. Southwest brick sofa in the fourth quarter. You take the shot. You don't pass it to the 37 year old Henri retired jump shooter in the corner for a contested jump shot. Which he still almost a shout out to mellow out there. Struggling with that dumpster fire out here.

Marcus:

Love them. Um, so yeah, I'm so bad. I'm weird is a really huge, but like not in a cute way. Or adorable way. It

William Jeffery:

was like bug I maybe it helped us shoot better. I don't know what the jumper was shot. Maybe it helped her advise Melo on his jumper has been nice. For a long time. Maybe she had access to angles that a normal human eyeball doesn't have.

Marcus:

They're trying you right now. And for people that are confused and are still falling along the Netflix thing they're trying to send Chile, Costa Rica and better right now. Oh, it's

William Jeffery:

third world Netflix. So yeah, they got different rules over there anyways, so yeah, I'm sure that's how Netflix worked out for a couple months,

Marcus:

and then they're going to try it out in US and Canada. Well, no, they

William Jeffery:

won't. You'll get sued. sued Netflix for charging me for an account I already have twice. We just closed. Here's what he calls one of them. How can I close an account? I didn't know they were going to open. You don't know that until you've charged me already. At which point I'm suing you because I didn't sign up for an additional account. On the basis of I watched, you know, outside of my house.

Marcus:

Wells Fargo's right something like that. They're making a streaming service. No, but they're opening up random accounts where people

William Jeffery:

really with money, you know, Wells Fargo, my first and last name at William Jeffery. podcast host. If I take a business account, he will have 1020 You know, 30,000 or however much you want put in there. Test it out. Make sure it works. But disappear. Send it again. I didn't see anything. I don't know. You. Can you send another one. You sure you sent it? Okay, I got the confirmation email. Let me go try and withdraw some cash anyway. So I'm trying to South Wells Fargo in their crimes. Now there's no cash coming out. I'm putting it in a Scrooge McDuck stack trying to burlap dollar side the SEC.

Marcus:

So I've been trying to lower my subscription, my subscriptions, okay.

William Jeffery:

And Netflix is trying to increase them without your knowledge based on arbitrary rules. I just I don't know. They're gonna get sued. Because I will sue them if they charged me cuz I watch Netflix all over the place from all sorts of different devices, right? Me myself, not to mention the 400 people I share with like if that sometimes if I have good service, but the food is like late or like if I have a half and half experience at the restaurant, right? Or if I don't have change, then I'll just leave my Netflix login. Really? Yeah, that's Hey, movies. That's more than me. That's better than two $3 That's a gift that keeps on giving you just like your Netflix login, right? It's up to you to get the end chill. I'm leaving. I'm loving it. You got to finish it out, throw it at the rim. Go get it. But you only have one before simultaneously sign if I were 20 Something I would rather have an opportunity At at Netflix and show to find out like gives you an opportunity at half a movie ticket like what good is $5 and Netflix longhand. I mean you can use it more than once. You have HBO Max. I do because during the pandemic deaths where movies were released they were so

Marcus:

and then they stopped because they thought that we were gonna die but theaters are still kicking. I've been to a movie theater and a drive in theaters you know, stop driving.

William Jeffery:

No, I don't think they I think someone tricked you went to a drive in and watch the movie right? Was it but it was at somebody's house.

Marcus:

It was not someone's it was a drive in theater.

Unknown:

Is it still there like this drive back? I can't drive back. We'll see.

William Jeffery:

Next time we'll head above Barker say Marcus get swindled again,

Marcus:

Disney plus Disney plus Why have

William Jeffery:

children so so that's a yes. I think you have to like get it. Otherwise still like hold you hostage in front of television? Heard about that? Huh? Yeah, come about berghahn and King of the Hill is my white noise.

Marcus:

Do you see how many streaming services Sling TV? I tried them? I got rid of a Sling TV is that for injured people that no it is a TV streaming service. What? What they stream live TV?

William Jeffery:

Oh, you got to pay for the box because they took the cable you know it's not digital and it has just

Marcus:

it's live TV. Like people like watching live TV.

William Jeffery:

While you would buy a box specifically for live till you can get that

Marcus:

box. It's called Sling TV. You download it on Amazon Prime video.

William Jeffery:

I think I have that. Well, that comes with your prime account. Right?

Marcus:

I don't think I utilize Amazon Prime.

William Jeffery:

No, everybody forget they've got some random good stuff on there. I think right now actually. I've been trying I've fallen asleep to the protege at least three times is the Asian look at this this Asian lady. I can't her last names if I just let her I don't know. I think her first name is Maggie. She was assassin on the show for a long time. Okay. Anyways, her Samuel L Jackson que que mi something que maybe? I don't know. Anyway, it's a movie that was in theaters that I wanted to watch. And I will every like three months. I'm like, Oh yeah, prime means I can get stuff same day for free and watch a movie. And I'll go and see like what they have and everything have a handful of stuff that like I want to watch. I forgot about you know that shout out to Amazon and listeners. I'm pretty sure anybody listening to this has Amazon and at this point in the Amazon journey probably have to have prime if you're over the age of 25. So log on and check out the movies, they got some good stuff. They got some shows too. They got a they have house that's where house lives.

Marcus:

TV show also lives in like,

William Jeffery:

does it still cuz like I, I feel like it's gonna leave one eventually. Because it's like they they're like, athletes now. And the streaming services argue over contracts. King of the Hill was initially on Netflix, I remember the night that it got pulled because I was just starting working overnight in office at where I work. And I was trying to get that was my opinion. That's my going to sleep. It's my whiteness show. And by the first where there's like, I don't I don't know if you guys are familiar with the way streaming services work. But when you watch a television show, that would have a commercial, there'll be like a pause where the commercials supposed to be. And then it just goes to the next scene, right? I had trained myself to be asleep by the first commercial break, stop and wake up right as the credits are rolling. First six minutes in person, right? Why don't have 30 minute lunch? Oh, that makes sense. And that's how I trained myself to oversleep like we're working overnight, and you try to sleep for 30 minutes, you usually wake up fired, because I'm gonna take this quick nap right? Now the sun's up. And everybody's like, Well, alright, thanks. You know, you tried but here's your pat on the back because you didn't even make it through orientation. But so I was trying to watch and it kept Aaron and Eric Eric and then my wife calls and she's like, Hey, what's wrong with Netflix? Like, are you logged in maybe she thought to me, people are logged in because they do like they they make it so you have to have a certain amount of logins. So you can't just you know, eight people can't be logged in at once.

Marcus:

Okay, so no simultaneous streams more than four right and

William Jeffery:

I feel like that is the fairest best attempt you can have at not sharing the password too much okay. And I'm fine with that like we paid we pay an extra couple of dollars so that we can have additional logins like my mom is still can use it but we're going back and forth on fair I was wrong with it and then at we felt like a rabbit hole and found out that the they'd lost the contract. And it was right as Hulu was coming into its own as a streaming service. So they were Fox obviously was pulling all their contract, right to catalogue all their content. So now that every blank you know, everybody's got a streaming service. I'm surprised it's not like Yellow Pages streaming or something trying to get phone books to come back. But So because everybody's got their own streaming service now now the content like the rights to the shows are like athletes and they they argue and or, you know, bid over who has the rights to what shows and things. And that's why shows will live to places for a little bit, but they usually won't live there for a super long time because they're either in the process of the the rights changing hands, or they're in the process of like, contract negotiation or something. But a lot of stuff is everybody wants to have exclusive content, and they want their service to have, you know, special shows. And I've noticed that like things will move around a lot. But I remember when King of the Hill left because it almost got me fired. I didn't know how I was gonna take lunch anymore. I just I just stopped taking lunch.

Marcus:

I mean, that makes sense. So because Fox has it, they pulled all the contact and what I guess Disney owns Fox now. So that's part of their contact content.

William Jeffery:

owns Fox does not leave. Can't be fair. I feel like that means they don't have to television and streaming like they're in control of so much content. This is true, but

Marcus:

I was thinking it's funny. They'll say don't buy YouTube. Google owns that so probably right. So

William Jeffery:

if they start working with Google, then we're all gonna invest in that. Like three years Terminator one thing

Marcus:

I was thinking about is how you said like, the mainly the exclusive content, like dads corner. It used to be on all platforms. And now I think it lives exclusively where?

William Jeffery:

Oh, yeah, Apple podcasts. I was involved in the bidding war. They offered me a whopping ability to post it exclusively on Apple podcasts like you know what, after some tough negotiation I think I will only upload it there right well done Apple No, but next time well that's cool, negotiate better contracts now. It is a separate podcast I do mostly by myself sometimes I'll have guests on but it's more parentally focused. So not necessarily just for dads but from a dads perspective. So you know, for sure focused on dads and dad thoughts. But you know, for the moms and anybody else that's interested in what dads may be thinking they might you know, get get something out of

Marcus:

it right and I'm subscribed to that it was $1

William Jeffery:

it is it's a whole dollar not not a penny or half dollar a whole one row because all season Yeah, I need I feel like if I collect enough of those then maybe I can afford to get a credit card and buy some gas

Marcus:

but yeah, so what I was thinking is like once again what and these are just the ones that I mentioned that are popular where people there's tons of streaming service that I and other people have that just I mean where do you stop?

William Jeffery:

I mean I don't know where your bank account that like once it stops getting approved. That's generally a good stopping point. I'm actually good so I'm fine probably before you go broke but that's you're asking where That's where where your money in? That's in America that's always the stopping point. Whatever you can afford. I know someone that uses Pluto the planet like ricocheting signal off all

Marcus:

the x planet is a streaming service

William Jeffery:

because it got its planets right revoked so that I can charge people because I didn't really plan on paying you just as hard like once you when you were official and now you're not now you there's an asteroid A star when I consider Pluto anyway it's spaces to that I don't know yet at

Marcus:

all. Art so it says in according to I believe it's USA news today that little star got your hen services in here apparently you have most of these Netflix being number one

William Jeffery:

right because they just opened now they're just gonna open accounts for everybody that they found out they were number one like I literally do guys we can't get more people to sign up because pretty much everybody's gonna sign up has or they have shared their passwords like the vaccine everybody's gonna get vaccinated Sorry, got vaccinated or they have a fake card but so now what we're gonna do is we're just gonna open accounts for you know, when they log in from elsewhere and say that it's you know, someone else Amazon there's no real way for us to prove that Amazon Prime is number two, right? Because that comes with the membership right and no one here knows that. It's more so that Amazon has as many customers as Netflix as

Marcus:

streamers. Fair enough tied for number two is Disney plus.

William Jeffery:

That's impressive because that's very that's like a rookie, you know, coming in third for the scoring title or something because I ain't been out for that like of like Netflix is the OG there. They originally started this exactly. They were out here with the DVD they're slinging mixtapes, right right.

Marcus:

They're definitely the Jay Z of the video streaming world

William Jeffery:

Amazon since they you know, I I count them as existing for a long time because they existed as the shipping you know, giant and then they were like, Alright, well we got now that we know control all things shipping. Let's dabble in streaming, right? That's cool. And they trick you like it's part of your own right. So they include it with your account. So it's sort of like it's more of a perk than it is its own streaming service. So Amazon has music also. It's I think I do only because they they send an email random. Yeah. And I think I was just, I was purging my emails. And I was like, Oh, the Amazon, because I guess, you know, Spotify was it's not enough.

Marcus:

Number. Four is fundamental.

William Jeffery:

That's a channel. I thought the other

Marcus:

cars also. Yeah,

William Jeffery:

stream it? I guess. HBO is also a channel. Well, that's why would you want, but nothing but cartoons. I mean, HBO is a channel, but it was always a paid additional service. So they have exclusive content, because you always had to pay extra to get it for animation is a channel that you initially got for free. They don't have their own content. It's like, well, how do you even

Marcus:

pay me you can stream it for free? doesn't charge you. So I mean, there's advertisement

William Jeffery:

there rank that makes between free and paid streaming? Crap. It's just the best streaming. That's crazy. Netflix is beating out free services. That is kind of a thing. Everybody would just have a default free service. Right? But no, no. Who being Ouch, who's losing to the random cartoon streaming service that I just found out about today? And I've had Hulu since it was free. Also tied for fourth HBO Max. I mean, that's fine. They're sort of whatever like, like, I think that there are only four because of the pandemic because they started releasing movies before that I had no reason to buy it.

Marcus:

Also tie for fourth the peacock network.

William Jeffery:

I mean, I guess that's that's like a Disney honorable mention, because I think that's still pretty new. Right? If it's like that's like, there's all the old TV shows pair mountain stuff, like Yeah, a bunch of old network television stuff for house friends. I don't know if it's for house, but I know I think friends is on there. Maybe the office might be I think like so. I don't

Marcus:

know. I wouldn't want to say Oh, no. Well, they have the new seasons of Saved by the bell in the new Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

William Jeffery:

I feel like peacock is people who want to be nostalgic about not being able to afford cable in the 80s like because all that stuff. It's all regular television shows you could watch for free 100 years ago, so like if you were poor, and like to watch television, here's the streaming service for you.

Marcus:

I guess maybe?

William Jeffery:

I don't know. It's a very specific

Marcus:

niche. Peacock is NBC Universal. The one that's number eight is Crunchyroll that's all anime

William Jeffery:

no no crunchy row. Oh, nice California roll I'm gonna say that's like the worst American sushi you'll ever have. It's like It tastes like McDonald's sushi. Wow,

Marcus:

there's there's there's a spicy Crunchy Roll or a dragon roll. Some good sushi

William Jeffery:

dragon roll has the eel from Crunchyroll TV. No, I'm just we were talking about that. I thought you made that as a real go number eight

Marcus:

yet is Crunchyroll it's

William Jeffery:

a real so the sushi place has its own show that you can pay to watch people make Crunchyroll

Marcus:

is the name of the streaming service that streams anime and only anime. Oh, that's race to the two screens?

William Jeffery:

Well who came in after that? chinky eyes TV like that is got to be the most racist Paramount plus came in after that. Oh, which is a little more racially tolerant or Crunchyroll is anime. Really? No one's offended by that just has alright. Yeah, no, it seems okay with the main Crunchyroll that's like it fried chicken TV only show on Friday, Martin and i What is it juicery runs like, you know, it was all old gangster movies.

Marcus:

No, but then what we'll be teaching

William Jeffery:

106 and Park and nobody wants to do that. You couldn't get him away. Last but not least, and like if you signed up for spectrum, they give you the rights to 106 and Park.

Marcus:

Apple TV, which I keep forgetting exists.

William Jeffery:

Yeah, that sucks. Do they? Oh, that's impressive. They made the list. They have a bunch of random shows that have great trailers, but aren't good enough to make you want to buy like they are the show with the one dude Sudeikis Jason Sudeikis he's like a soccer coach. Don't know nothing about soccer. Marius. Okay, I didn't buy it. There's a couple other ones I'm like oh, that looks interesting. You want me to spend money is all right. I already have eight other streams of paid money to watch this preview television. It's like leaving

Marcus:

no it's never as good as they make it seem like it's gonna be nuts. That's true.

William Jeffery:

Well, it's like you know, it's like playing for chips and salsa. Right like you know, it's I already have apple you know the stream I don't want to play pay extra for the seven shows y'all got like and I still have to pay for the movies and everything like had paid for Apple Music. I haven't paid for you streaming the television and I'm not I'm done paying you apple. Yeah, fair. I'm good. I gotta buy six phones every two years because built in obsolescence.

Marcus:

And for people that enjoy live TV still, people like me. There's YouTube TV. That's number one.

William Jeffery:

Oh, our AARP listeners out there. You can't you know, your hip hurts. And you've had three knee surgeries. And you can only have solid foods before five. That what is the streaming service YouTube TV? Oh, God, I think they stream in Braille for those guys. You know if I mean, who else would Why would anybody want that?

Marcus:

He never wanted to like enjoy watching live television just turning you time is free.

William Jeffery:

I'm not paying

Marcus:

like YouTube TV. He local live

William Jeffery:

TV on I want to watch YouTube on my television. I watch it specifically on my laptop,

Marcus:

ABC News. Fox 11 has some interesting programs. These

William Jeffery:

are all channels on the television. Yes, my computer is three and a half steps from television.

Marcus:

But you have to like, go and plug in exactly what you want,

William Jeffery:

right? YouTube is to be watched while working television is to be watched on lunch, or you know, after your boss leaves, right?

Marcus:

You put the both of them together. And there you go YouTube TV.

William Jeffery:

I was trying to get people fired, I understand. Okay, no work will get done ever. I get it. That's make sense. Instead of having background videos on YouTube that you don't pay attention to, you can watch the COVID numbers, you know, like the stock market and keep yourself panicked instead of working? Or why it takes them so long to answer the phone spectrum. Or they all got YouTube TV.

Marcus:

Or you can just pay $1 and listen to the head above hypocrisy his dad's corner. Just get some good advice.

William Jeffery:

Unless you're blind cuz we don't we don't stream in Braille. But you know, if the audio is still pretty good, you know, just listen harder if you can't see.

Marcus:

Yeah, how do you feel about sharing? Like, let's just say

William Jeffery:

about sharing. I can't stand it because I have a father and a husband. So everything I get is shared before I get it.

Marcus:

Fair enough. What if everything such as like, you know, the podcast information such as like, if some,

William Jeffery:

they're gonna get sued, it's like if McDonald's charged you for sharing fries, right? Like, if I go to McDonald's, we go to McDonald's, right? And I get a number three and you get a fillet of fish because you're disgusting. And that's all you want to eat. You don't want anything to drink. It's not what I want. And you don't want fries right? And I tried it but I'm like I can't you know he wants a prize like I want a couple fries. And then I give you three fries and McDonald's like that'd be 38 cents like not bad the fries are 250 I bought them I can give one five to everybody in here. You can't charge me.

Marcus:

What about those restaurants that some people go No? No shame? No shame into a restaurant that says no shame.

William Jeffery:

No, not since I was four at the kitchen table with my sister. Oh not four seven because we're seven years apart so I'd have to be like 10 or something but that's the only time we're not supposed to share this because she couldn't eat solid foods yet. Also is an hour maybe that might be a rule I like to play play are you talking about like when you go to play places with children and so you can't that's true you can't share your food with somebody else's kid because everybody got a peanut allergy every time you share your food it's always the kid that's allergic to peanut well

Marcus:

certain restaurants have a no sharing policy which basically means no cheating no attempts for example to fee five people when only one or two of them have actually ordered food.

William Jeffery:

Oh that's cool. It's like a no customer policy people wow I would never go there

Marcus:

you never go to a restaurant that has something like a no sharing policy like you you can't

William Jeffery:

I'm leasing the food I don't own it I want once I buy my food I can do whatever I want with it you don't get to control how I eat or who I shared with Sue is no such thing as a bunch of fries for a bunch of your friends if that's the case and just make it overpriced Don't Don't say no sharing say fries cost $12 Because we give you you know 400 pounds worth and we know you're gonna share Don't you know don't don't make it so you're got now you got to have referees at the table like Oh, no that see, he tried one you went back to fourth without a violation. Y'all gotta leave I'm sorry. You shared for fries. And that is not allowed here at no customers are us like this. That doesn't make any sense that that's not how I mean, I know that we have reversed capitalism but like even here, that's not how capitalism works. Once a purchase is complete, I own something. I can do whatever within the law. I want with it. Right? Like I don't think that I can beat someone to death with french fries and be like, well, I bought them Nevermind, I can do whatever I want. If I manage to do that, it's still probably going to be assault. I might get extra points for creativity. But I'm pretty sure I'll probably still at least have to go to court if not prison. But as long as it's legal. And I have purchased If you can't tell him what to do with his mind,

Marcus:

let's read showing an NFL game without the written consent. And by that, I'm just saying, like, if you ever did buy a football game, you can't really show that without

William Jeffery:

buying a football game. It's shown on the network properly. So like, if you like they have the deal with the network that they that they that is showing the game. That's why it's illegal to reshow it, and charge someone for it. Because now you're trying to make money like outside of their deal. They're very much like the mafia, when you can't not man, that that No, not here this, that's not you can't, you cannot sell your NFL videos here. Um, my final thoughts Netflix, I hope you have a good defense team, because you try this foolishness over here, I will be in line and so you won't be the first because I don't have money like that. But when the class action comes along, please believe I will be signing up for you know, you get the 38 cents for the $48 billion lawsuit. So you know, the whole world can take Netflix to give you you're never like gotten one of those things in the mail from someplace you worked 100 years ago, like didn't do tips, right? Or they didn't clock out for your breaks, right? So now your partner some super big lawsuit, every now and then I get like a random check for like $200 Because Coffee Bean didn't you know, pay us for breaks or something or they tried to tip under the table, whatever the case may be. So I feel like I'll be in line for that because I can't afford to sue Netflix directly. I got Disney money. But they're they're setting themselves up for frivolous lawsuits. Well, not even frivolous, they're their base because their charges are going to be frivolous. You can't charge people twice for something they already bought. Like just because you didn't you did not foresee how login sharing was going to affect your business model. You can't retroactively change the rules on people and not expect massive pushback. Especially like you can, at best they they would be better served if they made it so new. People that are signing up for the first time in Netflix like those accounts are now subject to these you know, cockamamie rules of you. If you log in from three different IPs within the span of two weeks and you get charged for a shared account or whatever the rule is right like that. You can do whatever you want to new customers, right? Because they can see it coming if you still choose to sign this bad deal. That's your own fault, right? Like that's if if you want your logins policed, you want to hear hear your streaming, micromanaged. By all means, but to those of us that signed up 100 years ago, when y'all were slinging your Netflix mixtapes at a you know, vending machines and whatnot, we want the OG deal that we signed up for it, we've been paying, you know, all these years, you can't change it, like well, you can but you're gonna make you're gonna disrupt your customer base. So I don't see that going well, for for them, I guess, I guess, you know, have foresight plan ahead. That would be the the moral of the story try to you know, and it's it's tough and you're not always gonna get it right. And you know, he's got to chalk that up, you can't it's, I it is it's risky to try to correct something like that retro actively, like so late in the game. And they've because they've also changed the you know, the rule so many times already and people have dealt with it, like the login things was a big, people were upset about that, and the prices keep going up all the time. So like now the prices are gonna go up. Plus, you're gonna open up random accounts for me based on your random set of guidelines for how I should use the service that I that I paid for, like the contract that I signed the agreement that we have, you're gonna provide me this service, you know, for this monthly fee. Once I give you the fee, and you know, I create my account, I can do whatever I want with it. That's that was the agreement and now you can now go Alright, well now we don't like how you're using it. So let's change agreement like that's not that's not really how this works. So good luck Netflix. Hope you're ready because I'm suing you. I'm gonna defend myself and as you can see, I can talk for a very long time about absolutely nothing so don't let me actually have a point don't let it have to do with my dollars I don't have a whole lot of them you're trying to take extras for you and understand you can with the content you guys got television shows movies, they got an onslaught of foreign films like there's a whole Indian action film category section and they got like eight new movies every 20 minutes I get that cost money and you're gonna have to figure out another way to make star driving Uber that works you know something I have had to supplement my income and you know, I've looked into the Uber driving so there's the other ways you know, I'm not gonna recharge people for work. I didn't go back to work like hey, man, you know that work I did last week. I want you to pay me double because I didn't get a whole lot of sleep and I don't think it's fair that you guys maybe come in tired so from now on if I come in tired and one time and half that's that how would that go try it out at work. I wouldn't you employees did that Netflix? What if the people that work at Netflix were like, You know what? We want retroactive pay, I've been tired, my knee hurt. I'm still at the desk taking these calls. You want to pay me double? For all the times? I felt like I worked really hard.

Marcus:

For next three minutes. Enjoy rideshare rants.

William Jeffery:

Boys. Oh, man. Well, I mean, so I guess we're going to talk about the cell. Yeah, I did. Well, it didn't start is just that we were trying to find ways to supplement income and we fell into a second vehicle. And now we have to pay for it. We have a second vehicle and the same amount of jobs. So how do you make a vehicle pay for itself? You drive people around? And or you rent it out, and nobody wanted to rent it yet. So I was driving people around. And I you that's, you know what, that is actually a good segue to, you know, to continue this ramp, because that is something that I feel like they changed the stipulations, you know, constantly it's a moving target, right? Like come some of the cars I've been in for these Lyft Ubers. Whatever service you choose to use our I don't think we pass a small check, let alone all the hoops I had to jump through to become you know, rideshare approved. So that was a whole process in and of itself a brand new, brand new 100% electric car. And it took me I don't know, probably almost a week to get approved to drive, which you would think is brand new, like it just let me drive right? Like you guys, there's a shortage of drivers. Nobody wants to work. Why are you making that's why nobody wants to work, I put in an application. And you're like, Well, you got to show me your tags, I just got the car don't have any tags, take a picture of a temporary tag. Well, there's no expiration date on the temporary. Okay, you know what, I'm gonna go to the other service. So then I stopped I started one application stopped halfway through that one is to this day as I'm recording this still pending because the registration which is temporary because the car is brand new, doesn't have a begin and end date on it. So I'm like, alright, well, you just don't have a driver that the other company got one that you don't have, because your process is stupid. And I say that because the car is new, legal and registered right it's not like I'm trying to sneak one over on them and and drive illegally I did everything I'm supposed to. And you're making it hard for me to drive and then you complain you don't have enough cars on the road and that's why my ride costs three times as much as it used to. But So at any rate, that was I didn't even get to my first ride yet. But so well get the new car I finally get approved for one of the services and I'm sitting eating lunch and I get the alert on my phone your paperwork has gone through and I'm like oh snap I can finally drive while I was happy because it's been you know several days now on this car has not made us rich so she's having buyer's remorse already right? We started Airbnb we used to rent the recording studio as an Airbnb and that booked the moment we put it you know we we put the listing up and I think that she was expecting that same kind of response with this with the rental of the car and the me getting approved to drive and like she thought it would go quickly and it didn't. So she's happy. I'm happy. All right, this is finally working. Or eating I mean chicken wings and having fries having good old lunch. And I'm like Alright, well I got approved. Let me see. I get what Hello. Whoo. Come on, Mike, what's going on?
